Such great work for the animals of Maui! Lovely facility with outdoor play spaces and friendly staff. We did Dog on Demand while we visited from CA and LOVED it! If you are a solid dog person and want to give a big ole bag of love a break from the shelter you should sign-up!

I visited Maui Humane Society for their Dog on Demand volunteer activity. There are many volunteers and people dropping by to visit with the many animals (cats, dogs, bunnies) that need attention. Our assigned dog seemed to enjoy the car ride, forest hike, and park visit with us. Lots of energy (that we were prepared for). He came with a backpack with his own water bottles and towel + treats and supplies. We also visited the cat house with 2 large catios and many, many cats. They seemed to enjoy the pettings and attention we gave them. Freddie the tortoise was very active in his grassy pen.

Been coming to Maui for way more years I can recall, this is one of the best trips ever thanks to trying to help by taking a dog out for a day every chance I get! Just makes it just more enjoyable to take care of a sad and abandoned pup! Not so easy when have to go back, but I see the dog content or smiling, so all good!

Got to take part in the Dog on Demand program on our recent trip to Maui. Such a great experience getting to take a dog out for a fun day away from the shelter. We ended up doing it twice and wished we had every day we had been there. Both dogs were really sweet and affectionate. E'kai is super chill and just wants to be by your side and in your lap as much as possible. Harry is very playful and adventurous and loves everyone. Really hope they are adopted soon!

Staff here are amazing beings. I am grateful to each of them for the work they do every day. I wish I could volunteer and help out more often than I am able ❤️ We’re thinking about fostering a pup and you should too!

Great people doing great work. We signed up for Beach Buddies while on vacation in Maui. Of all of the things we planned on doing this is the one that everyone looked most forward to! It felt great giving a dog a great day away from their kennel. Keep up the great work!

I’m volunteering here as my seva while I’m living on the island and I’m very impressed with the volunteer programs here. I feel very supported, well-trained and nurtured to help animals in need here. There are SO MANY WAYS TO HELP (and I can’t emphasize this enough) that works around your schedule, whether you have a few hours a month or each week to help out.
